Collage Contemporary DanceCollage produces local artists from around the county for a mixed program. Choreographers include, Rebekah Brown of H2O, Faith Jensen-Ismay of Mojalet Dance Collective, along with Janet Alvis, Kelsey Hirte, , Talia Castellanos and emerging artists from South Bay.  

We are proud to announce that Elfi Schaefer-Schafroth will present an excerpt of our intercultural dance theatre piece BackGround in San Diego.

BackGround is a co-production between Tanzprojekt Elfi Schaefer-Schafroth (Switzerland) and the Fishers of Man Arts Project (South Africa). The piece tells stories of origin, resilience, and self-empowerment, weaving together individual biographies and collective memory – from the Pantsula dancers living in a township near Johannesburg, to Elfi, whose life is shaped by her roots as the daughter of a so-called Verdingbub – a former child laborer placed in foster care under Switzerland’s historical system of forced placement.
