Inside Performances

Celebrated San Diego mime and movement artist Jerry Hager returns to Mojalet after a sold-out run of his solo show Red: Man, Rascal, Clown. For The Bench, Hager joins with his daughter, Los Angeles theater artist Valerie Hager-Slavin, and award-winning director Scott Slavin.

On the anniversary of her father’s passing, a daughter returns to the spot of their last conversation—where an argument occurred that haunts her, and the ghost of her father has been waiting. A devised two-person play that incorporates movement and dialogue while exploring universal themes of forgiveness and healing through the lens of a primary relationship between a parent and child.
